John Burrell (finance Chairperson)
John has been a member of the San Antonio/Holy Spirit Parish for the past 15 years and has held positions on the Parish Council initially and then the Finance Committee for the past 12 years. John has three adult children and is married to Anne Duncan.
John trained as a professional engineer and manages a project management consultancy in Wellington. He is taking an active role in the various earthquake strengthening projects that are proposed within the Parish as well as building compliance and building maintenance related matters.
Member of the St Patrick’s Wainuiomata Community where I was invited to become a member of the Finance Committee. Also enjoy being part of the Senior Group helping to organise activities and outings etc. The new Parish Finance Committee is a very friendly team of members working well together.
I have been a parishioner of Waiwhetu for many years and was chairman of the Our Lady of the Rosary Finance Committee up to the formation of the Holy Spirit Parish. I have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren and my sporting interests are Golf and Indoor Bowls and my TV watching interests are Rugby, Cricket, Golf and Racing.
Julia Elza Jose
“Chit” to her Filipino friends, she and husband Mark and four daughters moved to Wainuiomata in 2006. Became an active parishioner at St. Patrick’s in 2009. She has been with the church’s Finance Committee for a while until the Parish amalgamation and moved to the Parish of the Holy Spirit Finance Committee with Alan Maclean. In her semi-retirement mode, she is an active member of the Great Adventure Bible Study Group, -Wednesday mornings and of the KPF Filipino Charismatic Community in Wellington.
Fr. Marlon Peter Maylon
Fr. Marlon is a member of a religious order, called the Society of the Divine Word (SVD). Prior to New Zealand, he had a chance and worked in South America (Ecuador) and Australia – as the province treasurer. Before becoming a priest, he did his Business degree in Administration (MBA-Finance/Int’l Business-Australia).
He’s working closely with the Parish Finance Committee and creating good rapport with the Parish Pastoral Council for the common good of the Parish of the Holy Spirit, Te Wairua Tapu.
Talofa my name is Cathreen Smith. I have been on the finance committee for the past 5 years. I grew up in Wainuiomata attending the two primary schools and then my college years at Sacred Heart Lower Heart Lower Hutt. My family were active in the St. Patrick Parish.
I am married to Hamish Stenhouse and we have lived in Petone for the past 25 years where we have been active members of Sacred Heart Church. We have four children, Christian, Victoria, William and Joseph who attend Sacred Heart School Petone and St. Pats Town.
Before taking a career break to raise a busy family I studied at Victoria University and worked as a Chartered Accountant in both the private sector and public accounting firms.
I am married to Colette and we have three adult children. I have lived most of my life in Our Lady of the Rosary parish and attended the parish school. I have been on the Finance Committee at Our Lady of the Rosary and latterly Holy Spirit Parish for over twenty years. In my spare time, I am a regular walker and part-time runner. I am also a dedicated sports fan, particularly of rugby, cricket and the Wellington Phoenix.
In 1980, my wife Denise and I settled in Eastbourne.
I began in the financial services profession over 10 years ago, and now working with Chris MacKay Financial. Planning as an Authorised Financial Adviser, Denise is with NZEI. In my time in the Parish, I have served as Chair of the San Antonio Parish Pastoral Council, represented San Antonio on the Eastbourne Youth Worker Trust, and now as member of the Parish Finance Committee. A highlight of my parish involvement was receiving the Diocesan Fitzgerald Award in 2010.
My interests are sport, and we play tennis at the Muritai Tennis Club, and have been members for over 35 years.
I am a member of the Sacred Heart Petone Community. I am a committed member of the finance team. I am also involved in the community maintenance and building projects.
