EASTER SUNDAY

SOLEMNITY OF EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD

He has risen as He said!

We now celebrate the most important season of our faith. It is the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. All the signs and symbols that we associate with Easter are all about New Life. Easter eggs are symbolic of the new life inside the eggs after they hatch which are brought by the Easter bunny.

However, we must focus on the more important symbols of Easter. The Paschal candle which is lit during the Easter Vigil is the symbol of the Risen Christ. A tall candle with the Greek Letters Alpha which means Christ is the beginning and Omega which means Christ is the end. Together with the five incense grains which symbolise the five wounds of Christ that he suffered during his crucifixion. The Paschal Candle also comes along with the Holy Water that is also blessed during the Easter Vigil.

The resurrection of Christ is all about new life. And that is the hope that Easter gives us, that whatever has happened to us in the past, Christ has wiped it all by his death and resurrection so that we can always start anew. Hopefully, we all celebrate this new life this Easter.

ON BEHALF OF THE PARISH PASTORAL TEAM, HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
